The Big Green Another Successful Season It seemed as though the Rebels had all that they needed to repeat another great year. Then the summer came and bad news struck the team. Freshman standout, Ashley Church, and sophomore sensation, Jessica Bransford, would not be returning to the team. The ladies took the news hard, but found ways to overcome the odds. Using team bonding as a weapon, the girls used their friendships and unique ways of creating teamwork to pull off another stellar season. They brought the team back to the state finals for the third year, and overcame much adversity to prove that they were still the best. Though the team came up one game short, with a loss to Germantown in the state finals, 2-1, they proved that they were still on top by beating Brentwood three times, beating Centennial three times, and coming together to pull off a record of 20-3. With the help of senior leadership from Katie Jackson, Amanda Martin, Brittney Potts, and Brittney Skipworth, the girls pulled off one of the most sensational years in their history. Looking Forward. The Lady Bruins and the Lady Rebels carry on tradition a they anx– iou ly await a chance to rewrite history. The Rebels were not ready to giveaway their title as county champ a they defeated the Bruin in a blowout game.
