Ouch! The dance team's flexiblity and balance was displayed in all their dances. You could always see them doing the split and high scale jumps. Dance Team. Brittany Sprigg , Courtney Blackman, Maureen Callahan. Kelly Meece. Lori Upton. Kathryn Cass, Robin Peters. Rachal Trahan. Megan Hayes, Sally Bennett, Emily Koss, Meagan Callahan. Megan Myers. The dance team's hard work and dedication began last summer in hopes of winning a national title. While attending a dance camp at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, the team placed second in the dance competition and recieved a superior trophy. Lori Upton, Rachel Trahan, and Robin Peters received All-Star Honors. Also, Courtney Blackmun was honored the Drill Team Queen. Their hopes and dreams of strutting their stuff at Nationals were dashed when the school board rulings prevented out-of– state travel. The dance team was always the high light of pep rallies with high flying leaps and flashy choreography by coach Robyn Atkins. Captains Maureen Callahan and Courtney Blackmun were always sure to pump up the crowd with their spicy attitudes. To pay the high cost of uni– forms and camp, the team did many fundraisers from selling candy to holding car washes. The dancing Rebels derfinitely S added spice to school spirit.
