KNIGHT A. N. McCallum High School Austin, Texas Dina Hallmark, Ed itor
2 The 1960 Knight staff pre· sents a handful of seemingly insignificant items which have left their unnoticed but indelible impressions on the lives of McCallum students
During the school year we collect many things - some for our scrapbooks, and some for our memories. Although we often take everyday things for granted, they come to play an important part in our student lives. The clocks we watch, the phones we monopolize, the doors we pass through, and the windows we daydream out of -- all of these objects are associated with memories which mean and will continue to mean much to us. We certainly will recall friends and activities from high school days. Some of the activities which are prominent in school life are the pep rallies which are held before important athletic events. On pep rally days the entire student body fills the bleachers of the gym, overflows onto the floor, and packs the doorways. We will remember the crush at the doorways as each student strives to be in time to find a place in the bleachers. 3
Dedicated to Mr. N. H. Wittner #-- For his patience, understanding, and willingness to help all McCallum causes, we dedicate the 1960 Kmght to Mr. N. H. Wlltner. His quiet authority and his fairness have won him respect and admiration from students and faculty. When a student has a problem that can be solved only by the principal, he is impressed with Mr. Wittner's sincere concern for the welfare of each student. He is 4 always ready to assist any organization with 1ts plans and projects. Mr. Wittner takes much pnde in the recognition that our school has recei•.red and works with great care to see that McCallum makes the most of its every opportunity. For these and other qualit1es, the Knight staff wishes to express a bit of the appreciation that the students of McCallum feel for Mr. Wittner.
