182 Boys' State Boys' State Seven leaders of Viewmont spending June 11-17 at Boys' State- Electing mayors, a governor, running cities- Learning how the government works- Rooming with representatives from other schools- Athletics entering the pic- ture, competition between cities- 6:00 morning reveille- Weary-eyed, yet ready for meetings, sometimes·ehding at midnight- New and lasting friendships begin- Boys' State 1973-74, teaching the leaders of tomorrow to do their jobs. Girls ' State Three girls representing Viewmont well- Janet Bywater, Barb Richardson, Robyn Frasier -Participating in the 1973 Girls' State– Spending one week in June learning how government works at state levels- Electing officers, running mock cities- Making friends with strangers, roommates, and each other– Learning about the complex system of leadership.
