Library Mrs. Myrtle Jensen Mrs. June Squires 26 During National Book Week, students visited the library to browse through the fascinating books. Attractive decorations of plants, book displays, and art work added to the hushed atmosphere of the library which attracted many students whether they were there to con– centrate on studies or cultural and recreational reading. The shelves which lined the walls were well supplied with books containing valuable information for use in research papers, essays, and themes. The library subscribed to forty leading current magazines which were an asset to both teachers and students. Also available were important refer– ence books such as the "Readers Guide," "Who's Who," the encyclopedias, atlasses, and dictionaries. Students had ac– cess to the card file and numerous volumes of prose and poetry. This year students were allowed to check out books for a two-week period. This improved condition gave stu– dents more time for classroom preparations.
