Ogden High School 1961 Yearbook (Ogden, UT) - Full Access
Many mysteries of the science of math were revealed to students in the math courses offered at Ogden High. Classes in algebra, plane and solid geometry, advanced algebra, and trigonom– etry were taught. As their tools, students became familiar with theorems, corollaries, propositions, equations, and symbols. Along with the basic mathematical principles, these students learned the necessity of logical and clear thinking, and the value of accuracy. Accelerated classes were pro– vided for talented students who had shown ex– ceptional ability for learning and a sincere interest in math. This modern program helped the instruc– tors attain their goal which was to teach the fund– amentals and mastery of mathematical functions. David Nelson, Carl Hayes, and Richard Bell find that slide rules speed up their calcula– tions and make their work more accurate.
