The concept of having music in the every day curriculum of public schools wa first introduced in 1903 by Alvin Lebowitz. Alvin was a very intriguing little mar who could be heard yodeling his mother's name at 5 a.m. and could not pass roasted chicken without tipping his hat. Bored with his every day life of teachill! Botswanian literature to his inattentive students, he took up the bagpipes as hobby (this annoyed his landlord to no end, and Alvin finally was evicted afte playing "Moonlight in Vermont" for the 937th consecutive time at :2:30a.m.). Soo1 Alvin's entire vocabulary revolved around music.
