Oregon High School 1985 Yearbook (Oregon, WI) - Full Access

I tell ya. fellow students, we have some pretty nifty events such as Prom, Musicals, and Homecoming. Now let me outline for you some events that make us look like pikers! A. An example of an annual event is the rewriting of "The Continuing Handbook of Creating a Reasonably Organized Riot" written by students from the University of S. M. This handbook is written every year for either serious use or lining the bottom of the Dean's canary cage. Here is an excerpt: " ... when demonstrating, it is a good idea to have a crowd around you and show your disdain on a particular issue. Hence the term. demonstration. It is not effective to "demonstrate" in the privacy of your own home, for then it is no longer "demonstrating" but merely "acting silly" or "behaving like a fool." When demonstrating, it is effective to wear a Pla-card showing your'stance on an issue. Examples are: "raise taxes," "lower taxes," and "stop grinning at Persians." B. Miscellaneous methods of civil disruption I. Gathering at City Hall and chanting the word. "Fallus," until one's de mands are met. 2. Dressing as a policeman, then skipping. 3. Pretend to be an artichoke and punching people as they walk by. See what I mean, OHS-ers7 Compared to these events, we just don't cut it. But there is always next year ... Perhaps we could all wade waist deep in a vat of turkey pot pie.
