COSTUMES AND REFRESHMENTS Future Homemakers of America is a national and state organization divided into chapters, one of which is our local F. H. A. It is for girls interested in home economics and building a better tomorrow. Being state and national there are definite duties to per– form which include a sub-district rally, dem– onstrations, and observance of National F. H. A. Week. The F. H. A. calendar covers a twelve month period. The new officers are elected and installed the last week of school. In June the president and a delegate are sent to the State F. H. A. Convention. During the summer months members sold greeting cards, took part in the dress re– view at Manawa, planned a picnic with "the F. F. A., and made arrangements for a booth Seventy-two at the Waupaca County Fair. The F. H. A. received a blue ribbon on its booth for the fourth consecutive year. The F. H. A. float received second place in the club division in the Homecoming parade. Other activities of the club included selling refreshments at all home football games, the annual Parents' Night, and the Christmas party. Officers of the local chapter are: Deann Schlender, president; Joyce Baerenwald, vice-president; Mary Peeters, secretary· Jane Gast, treasurer; Doroth Gomoll, parliamen– tarian· Dorothy Kuschel, historian; Rachel Anton, reporter; Shirley Schauder, songlead– er; Marcalene Ewald, program of work chair– man; Thelma Klemp point system chairman. Miss Mary Moses is the club's advisor.
