TALE OF THE Fairmont-86 Grafton-64 The Polar Bears turned back the Bearcats of Rand Mc– Kinney for the third time this year in handy fashion by a score of 86-64. Dave Clark, senior playmaker, led all scorers w1th 20 points, coming on nine field goals and 2 for 3 at free throw. The Bears showed no s1gn of being affected by the two week lay-off before the game . The Bears jumped out in front 5-0 and were never in trouble throughout the game. The Bears led at half-t1me 41-29. The Bearcats rallied in the third quarter to come with in six paints at 42-36 only to have the Bears spurt out in front by outscoring Grafton 23-7 over the final SIX minutes of the quarter to ice the game The Bears' defense held the Bearcats two leadmg scor– ers to a total of five points, their lowest point production of the season Tim Jenkins led the Bearcats w1th 17 points. Joe Serdich followed Clark in the scoring column with 18 points and Rick Rowe chipped in with 17. The Bears' fast break worked almost to perfection as they clicked on 12 of 14 attempts with Dave Clark pass– ing to Rick Rowe for most of them. All the Bears broke the scaring column.
