GAME Fairmont West 14 Farmington 0 Power run n i n g by Ron Coldwell and broken-field running by Don Slate led the Bears to their first win in the traditional ope n e r with the Farmers. Slate's score was on a 34 yd . run. Fa irmont West 19 Morgantown 0 Ron Caldwell scored twice on plunges from 4 and 5 yards out to guide the Bears to their second straight win. Lou Gargarella added the third touchdown on a 3 yd. end sweep. Fairmont West 27 Phil ip Barbour 0 The Bears unleashed a potent offense a– gainst the Colts to take home their third win as four players, Joe Serdich, Ron Caldwell, Don S I ate and Don Howard scored touch– downs for the Blue and White forces. Fairmont West 7 Grafton 0 The Bears defense dug in to stop several Bearcat scoring threats and to keep their goal-line untouched for four straight games . Don Slate scampered into the end zone for the winning touchdown with just under two minutes left in the game. Fa irmont West 0 Victory 26 Victory spoiled the Polar Bears' perfect record as they held the injury-riddled Bears scoreless throughout the game. Dick Smith aand Joe S e r d i c h combined for 100 yards through the air but just couldn't get the big play. Below Left : J im Terry is caught from behind.
