COMPANYC THE YEAR WA A nu Y o E for the boys in "C''. Having won the intramural shield in 1945, the company set out to retain it. The company's football teams, though hampered by lack of manpower, gave a good account of themselves at all times. Our B-league football team won fir t place while the A-league outfit fini hed in sec– ond. The company furni hed six men for the Var ity basketball squad. The intramural game were sharp and hard-fought. We to k third place in the A league, and again the B-league aggregation captured first place. In January Fuzzy Kearn , who had been in the Marines, returned. He took command in February, when Captain Bishop was tran ferred to the staff. Verbeck Hall annexed quite a few point to its record in slUing and contributed two men to the var ity. With the advent of pring everyone buckled down to work, company competition looming large on the agenJa, as we were eager to win this honor for the econd con ecutive time. In port ompany constituted a threat at every turn. The oftball team handily took fir t place w'1ile the track team took econd in the intramural meet. Kearns, Currier, Vukdic, Murphy, Heigl
