Aflame with new pirit, the team took the field, and like demon , scored twice against Jame town, the final count being 19-0. After completing their eason untied, undefeated and unscored on, Manliu received a bid to play the Lynn All- tar . The game was played December 2 before 10,000 spectators. Manliu went down under a deluge of Lynn ub titution , and the core wa 47-7, our only core being on a screen pass, Nixon to Kelly. When the team arrived home, the entire Corps turned out with thundering cheers, even though their team had lo t. This wa a moving example of true Manlius loyalty and spirit. On De ember 8 the great Manliu team wa honored by a banquet at Hotel Syracuse. Mayor Frank J. Costello acted as toa tmaster. Among the peakers were Lt. Col. McCarthy, Dr. A. H. Kallet, Coach hankweiler, Ed McKeever, Frank J. (Buck) O'Neill, Harry Fisher, and Bill Nixon. The quad is grateful to Dr. Kallet, who ·e in piring pep talk pushed the team on to many vic– torie , and they highly appreciate the beautiful gold football presented by him as mementoes of thi succe sful ea on.
