B COMPANY CCOMPANY HEADQUARTERS COMPANY A COMPANY A LEAGUE BASKETBALL SPIRIT, the backbone of any sport, spurred company basketball to an outstanding season. In the A League the race for the dumpionship was close and fast. The final game found Company Band Company A in a deadlock for the throne. This resulted in a play-off game which became one of the most thrilling in the history of the Dodge Gym. The score was kept down throughout the game and at the half both teams stood neck and neck, four field goals and one personal. All companies had turned out; the spirit for both teams will never be surpassed. Seconds were remaining in the game. As the whistle blew with three seconds remaining and the score B-26, A-25, a foul was called against B. The ball was laid up on the backboard, the second hand made three strokes, and the final whistle blew. The foul was missed, B Company was victorious, five happy and five unhappy fellows left the court. With the season complete it left four hard-fighting sguads. Company B, ending as victors, had a fine combination. Companies A and C were evenly matched, but C, hin– dered with a poor start and unable to find the right combination until the end of the year, held third place. Great praise must be given to Headguarters for the gallant fight they put up right to the close of the season.
