[u rphy, Capt dgw•ck SOFTBALL THE 1 TRAMURAL oftball eason started off with a good display of four hard-fighting team , each bent on ecuring the point nece ary to win the intramural shield. trangely enough, the placing in the fir t game proved approximately the same as the final stand– ings. In the e game Company took over B by a ore of 20-6, and A Company beat last year' champi ns, Headquarter , 13-10. In the . B game, 0' eill and Crone of Beach scored home run , the only ones in the game, but their efforts failed to prevent C's final victory. Later in the ea on, B Company beat A, 13-5 in a good fast game, which set the Thomson men back a bit. A new lineup for B' team aided them in their victory and prO\ ed that it didn't take much to make a lo ing team a winner if the spirit of that team i high enough. Rudy Licata pitcher for , held A ompany to only ne run in the first fi\ e inning . n Headquarter came back into the running for a short while by beating B for the econd time. The out tanding feature of the game was the pitching of Blinco, who turned in a no-hit game f r Headquarter . ompany A's comeback over on the 22nd of April was one of the mo t exciting games of the ea on becau e of the mall number of error , the numerous fly balls and fine pitching of both ouhan of A and Luther of . ompany A f ught hard for, and earned, the final core of 11- .
