Math goals include developing positive self-concept
Within that foggy mist of
theorems, postulates, word
problems and unsolved
equations, the goals of the
math department are very
specific.
" Our goal is to project a
better understanding and to
make more people feel
comfortable," commented Mr.
Robert Jones, chairman of the
math department.
In addition to geometry
courses offered, sophomores
were able to enroll in Algebra
II courses this year, and
dedicated seniors enrolled in
advanced math after
completing prerequisites.
" We wanted to develop a
pos1tive self concept in
students," added Mr. Jones,
" and we wanted students to
feel like they could ask any
math teacher any question."
