Students emerge
from the school
year more likely
to succeed in
the future
The 1978-79 school year was a year when
students at South Mecklenburg High
School strived to do their best in their
social life, in activities, in academics, in
sports, or in whatever was important to
them. When they achieved results they
were especially proud. When they did not
achieve their goals, they still emerged
stronger. The students earnestly sought to
find out about themselves and the world
around them. They did find some answers
to their questions concerning their total
environment, and these answers were a
source of excitement for their expanding
minds. The struggle for improvement and
the search for answers concerning the
surrounding world went on throughout the
year. Refusal to yield amid setbacks
resulted in better individuals. Students
emerged from the 1978-79 school year as
people more able to provide for a better
future. This was perhaps the sum of the
total educational process.
