The 1983 edition of Roger Bacon Varsity Football
concluded the season with a 4-6 record. The wins
came with impressive victories over Withrow.
Woodward. Dayton Fairborn, and Purcell-Marian.
Offensively the squad was led by quarterback
Adrian Breen, whose l'ong scoring strikes to flanker
Joe Hice provided much of the punch in the Spartan
offense. The ground attack was headed by James
Dean, Rob Farwick, and Joe Johnson.
Defensively. Mike Mathis led the charge by lead–
ing the team in tackles and assists. Mike was ably
helped out through the fine defensive secondary
play of Tom Gray and Rob Burkhart.
