BASKETBALL

In the win column the 1961-62 coge season proved

to be poor for the young, inexperienced Hawks, but

with eoch gome they steadily showed improvement.

Although they consistently were aggressive, the quintet

faltered in the final quarter many times.

League competition opened on January 2. Fair–

chance-Georges tallied a win, 74-56. This seemed to

set the po«ern for Redstone as they were beaten suc·

cessively seven times in the first half of the season.

Opening the second half of the season versus Fair–

chance-Georges, Coach Polink's Hawks registered their

first win, 68-65. Then, they followed it up with a vic–

tory over South Union, 63-45. On their home court

North Union walloped the Hawks. Despite a valiant

rally Redstone was nosed out by Seth-Center, 51-50.

Lady luck again went against the Hawks as they

dropped the three remaining games.
