Sherm lden dropped rn a
15
foot
JUmp shot with six seconds remaining
to give the Moh1gons a sl1m one point
VICtory over the Bears, who had twice
defeated them convincingly during the
regular season. The Bears' offense was
"flat" alf night and only occasionally
showed signs of their earlier potency.
The victory was especially sweet for
the Mohicgans, since it was the Bears
who snapped the Mohicgans unde–
feated mark earlier in the year.
Joe Serdich led the Polar Bears
with
19
points and was followed by
Don Howard and Bill Lawson with
16
and
11
points, respectively. Eddie
Hriblon, the Mohicgon field general,
led all scorers with 24 points.
The Moh1cgons Jumped off to on
early lead and held a
21-13
edge at
the end of the first quorter. The Bears
bottled bock to go ahead late in the
game when the lead see-sowed bock
and forth. The Bears seemed to have
the game "sewed up" when they took
the lead at
62-61
on a goal by Don
Howard and then gained possession of
the ball with
32
seconds to go. How–
ever, the Bears nemesis, Eddie Hriblan,
came out of nowhere to steal the ball
and set up lden's late game heroics.
The loss ended the Polar Bears' season
at
18
wins and 3 losses. Two fine
senior ballplayers, Bill Lawson and
Dave Cork, ended brilliant three year
careers in this game .
