Hawaiian Club Works To Keep
The Teachings Of Ha waiiana
Showing unselfish dedication, devoting themselves completely in
striving to attain their mutual goal, the Wai'anae High School
Hawaiian Club and their advisor, Mr. Kona Smith show their desire
to secure and hold fast to the many different facets of Hawaiian
music, art, and dance.
Months ahead of time, the members of the Hawaiian Club com–
mit themselves willingly, and spend painstaking hours researching
Hawaiian history for their ultimate goal, May Day.
On May 2, the experience of having their extended families see
them perform with aJJ of their heart and soul, makes aJJ the time
spent worthwhile and rewarding. The preservation of the Hawaiian
culture by these students shows everyone what true Hawaiian spirit
is.
