SENECA
The 1977 Warrior Football Team compiled a 4-
4-1 record under third year Coach John Paske.
Warriors showed a consistantly tough, durable
defense throughout the year and had many
impressive moments offensively. The wins over
Oneonta, Windsor, Norwich, and Vestal were
impressive all-out team efforts. Even in defeat, the
team showed a great deal of character and enthu–
siasm and was competitive right to the very end.
The drive to excel and the determination for suc–
cess were especially exemplified by outstanding
play of the seniors. Led by tri-captains Rob Near–
ing, Jay Stoehr, and Andy Bobik, the players ral–
lied for some outstanding performances. Rob
Nearing, Dave Atkins, and Andy Bobik were
elected to the first team All Southern Tier Confer–
ence. Jeff Shafer, Jay Stoehr, and Fred Stoehr
were honored by being elected second team All·
Conference.
