As we remember him!
Prcsidcntal Campaign, October 28, 1960
I n his I naugural .\ ddress nearly three years ago, Pre ident Kennedy said:
''Let the \\·ord go forth from thi time and place, to friend and foe alike that the
tor h has been pa. sed to a new generation of .\ mericans - bom in thi century,
tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient
heritage - and unwilling to witness or p nnit the slow undoing of tho c human
rights to which this nation
ha~
been committed, and to which \\·e arc committed
today at home and around the \\Orld.''
.No madman's bullet can be permitted to stop this memorable march of ,\ merica
as a part of the human race towards peace and freedom, compas ion and justice
under law.
The brotherhood of man and the fatherhood of God rail upon us to reach out 10\·–
ing hands aero s barriers of race. religion, color, bigotry and bellirrerence, to all
who feel as he did.
Let us keep our hands outstretched.
