Danny Hopfinger helps
fuel-efficient Bradley
For beating the high prices
of financing an automobile, a
mechanically skilled person
builds his own.
So
it was
with Danny Hopfinger.
Working in the evenings and
on weekends for about five
months, Danny and his father
built a Bradley GT, a kit car,
on a Volkswagen frame.
Danny became interested in
building the foreign sports car
after seeing an article in a
magazine.
A kit was sent to Danny
including the body, windows,
seats, and all the accessories
needed to build the car except
the frame.
After it was built, the
Bradley GT got approximately
32 miles to the gallon of gas.
This car is unusual in the
fact that it is almost all
fiberglass and it has no
doors.A person gets into the
car through the upraised
windows.
Danny recently sold his
home built car and when
asked why he answered, "We
bought the car to build
because it was a challenge
and after it was built and I
had driven it a lot, the fun
was gone.
