Top-seeded tennis player Missy
Tatum has
made
her
mark
with a
racket.
A sophomore here, Missy is a
member of Rebelettes, Interact,
French Club, andY-Teens, in
addition to being the number one
female player in
the
newly formed
WMHS tennis team
Missy has played tennis for four
years and currently receives
instruction from Peter Marx
at
Bayou DeSiard Country Club.
Inspiration comes from a love for
the
game. "I just like to play,"
commented
the
petite blonde.

Missy plays a strong, energetic
game,
with "a nice, hard swing"
and "a
good
serve" being two of her
best points.
Weaknesses for Missy are
"keeping my mind on the
court.
I
tense up."
On
the
court
every afternoon,
Missy keeps her game up with
tournaments during the summer
where
she
takes away a prize
almost every time.
Her goals
and
ambitions include
trying to make the top
10
of the
state in tennis and working toward
a
scholarship.
Terry Brown shot a four-over-par
76
at
Pine Hills Country CILb to
pace
the Rebels to their first win of
the
season
in a five-team meet in
Mlrch.
In
an
earlier
meet,
Neville
had
defeated
West
Monroe
304-31 0
in
a wal golf match, in which
Scott
Everitt fired a 73 to share medalist
honors.
During the year, Everitt also
scored a hole-in-one when he aced
the 108
year eighth at Highland
Park.
For the first time in seven years,
Neville was defeated for the district
title, with Bastrop taking top
