THE MEASURE OF EDUCATION

Education without humanitarian ideals is like a foreign

traveler without a guide, for, education needs to be

channeled toward benefit to mankind. Whenit is not, it

becomes either aimless, or an instrument of danger.

Secondly, the uses to which we put our education-

to which we direct our knowledge-ultimately determine

the greatness of our own character .

Herein then, lies the true measure of our education-

how much we have benefitted others and how well we

.

have built our own character. When, in a lifetime, we

have dedicated ourselves toward these ends, we have

used our education wisely.
