Resembling past years at V.H.S., again the

race for the Region 2 title was a fight to

the finish, and again the Viewmont Vikings

came out on top. Amassing 142 points and

giving up only 33, the Vikings overhauled

Layton in the final game 16-0, and

ended with the Homecoming game against

the Clearfield Falcons. The game was never

in contention with the Falcons, as Viewmont

went over, around and through their line

for a convincing 29-7 triumph. Our next

two games were breathers as Viewmont de–

feated Ogden and then Ben Lomond easily.

We now stood 3-0 with Bountiful, our next

opponent on their field, though Bountiful's

playing field was bought by Viewmont dur–

ing the game week. The game was close all

the way, but after the first quarter, View–

mont was ahead 9-0. Then the Braves began

rolling and pulled ahead at halftime 12-9.

The third period was a seesaw battle with a

score by both the Vikings and the Braves.

But the Vikings were too much for the

Squaws with two fourth quarter T.D.'s to

win going away 30-19.
