''I've returned home," Mr.

Roland Thomas, building

supervisor, said, referring to

his being in the first

graduating class from WMHS.

Coming here from Swartz

Jr. High, Mr. Thomas

supervises a staff of five

custodians, 12 maids, 12

manpower workers, and nine

concession workers. This is

the largest staff ever working

at WMHS, and he terms his

maintenance crew "the best in

Louisiana."

Among the repairs this year

were filling in potholes in

parking lots, improving

drainage in front of the

school, and construction of a

classroom from a storeroom.

''I'm always on call," said

Mr. Thomas, whose regular

hours begin at 6 a.m. and

usually conclude about 6 p.m.;

however, special activities

require that he sometimes be

at the school until 1 a.m.
