CE
classes assist those with learning
Compensatory education is a
relatively new program
designed to assist students
with a learning disability,
usually with math or reading .
Considered as an elective,
students could receive one
credit each year.
To enter this program a
student must have a teacher 's
request , parental permission, a
folder made on him and
evaluation and screening tests
must be made. Then the
disabilities
student is approved by the
school board. Assisting with
this program were Mrs. Jean
Pere and Mrs. Patricia
Johnson.
Speech therapy was
basically the same program,
but worked closer with
students with a speech
disability. Sharing the speech
therapists with other schools
made it possible for WM
students to see her one hour
a day.
