The 4-H Club, sponsored by

Mrs. Pat Antley, conducted a

bake sale, and members

represented WMHS at local,

regional, and state

competitions and displays.

High scholastic achievements

and points for subjects taken

enables WMHS students to

become members of National

Honor Society. A student had

to maintain a 3.00 grade

average point all through high

school and earn 40 points

from specific subjects. A

candle light installation service

was held in the spring of

1979 for the 63 members.

Rebelettes new red uniforms

began the activity-filled year

for the 115 Rebelettes. Aug.

15 was the first of many

practices where the squad

learned and drilled to

perfection, marching, cheers,

and hand movement

techniques.

To increase school spirit and

add to their income the

pep-squad sold "Western

Pride" shirts in red and blue.

Research and rehearsal

busied the lives of Theater

Forensic members as they

prepared for and attended

numerous tournaments

throughout the state. To raise

money for fees and travel, the

squad sold raffle tickets. •

In addition they operated a

booth at the Ouachita Valley

Fair where they painted faces

and sold Cokes. Once again

the gruop was student

chairmen of drama at the

Superintendent's Festival of

the

Arts.
