Lady Reb tracksters debut with

Making their debut last year, the Lady

Rebel track team showed signs of promise

from the very first meet.

During that first meet, West Monroe

placed second to Jonesboro-Hodge with a

point spread of 23. Sandy Ward tossed the

discus for a first place while Lisa Owens ran

for a first place in both the 11 0-yard low

hurdles and the 100-yard dash. Shelia Capers

placed third in the 220-yard dash as did the

440-Relay Team and the Mile Relay

Team.

Closing the point spread on the second

meet, the Lady Rebels placed second by only

three points. Again Ward and Owens shined

with first places. West Monroe also placed

second in the 10Q.-yard dash, the 440-relay,

the 44Q.-dash, and the Mile Relay.
