Lead Tearn to Conference Titlt
This year's varsity basketball team, led by
All-County players Johnny Edwards and
David Kouri, had a very successful season.
With a record of thirteen wins, five losses,
and no ties, the Sabres compiled enough
wins to take the Conference Championship.
Although West Charlotte had an identical
record, South came out on top because the
Sabres had beaten West Charlotte twice
this season. South's only losses were two to
North Mecklenburg, two to Garinger, and
one to Olympic by one point in doub
overtime. The offense of the boar
battering Sabres scored a total of II'
points, while the stingy defense kept mo
teams to under fifty-five points per gam
