

INTERACT
The Interact Club, striving to encourage bet·
ter international understanding. corresponded with
a similar group in England. Serving the local com·
munity. these teen-agers, affiliated with the Rotary
Club of Republic. prepared Christmas treats for area
children. At the outskirts of Republic, the boys
erected a billboard to welcome travelers. Guided
by officers. Tom Lucostic, president; Bernard Sle·
zak. \'ice-president : John Kara, secretary; Andrew
Suha. treasurer; and sponsor, Mr.
Lee
Higin·
botham: the club held dances, ice skating parties,
and a spaghetti dinner to finance their service
program.
Hl-Y
The Alpha Hl-Y aimed to promote understand·
ing between themselves and fellow students. The
following officers guided the club through a fruitful
school term: Greg Direnzi, president; Robert Shaw,
vice-president; Dave Workman, secretary; Bernard
Slezak. treasurer; Bob Rohaley and Bruce Rankin,
councilmen: Tom Lucostic, historian; and Wayne
Mickey, chaplain. Caught in the surge of Christmas
spirit, the Hi-Y adorned the Uniontown County
Home with gay decorations.

journeyed to Washington, D.C., for an educational
and fun-filled sightseeing tour.
