...Or 2 Thumbs Down
Math was overall the most dreaded subject
for students at Franklin High. Not only was
it
sometimes incredibly boring and challenging,
math was the one subject students were guaran–
teed to have homework in. Teachers felt that there
was not enough time in the school year to cover
everything students needed to know. The conse–
quence resulted in students having homework
every night.
A common question students asked their
teacher was "When are we ever going to use this?"
Of course, teachers always had a response. Math
came into play at some point, in some way,
everyday. For some students math came easy,
but for others
it
was very challenging. Math was
a subject that students found
if
they weren't one
of the luckyfewwho excelled in it, they ended up
putting in much extra study time in order to
succeed.
When asked about his favorite thing in
math, Rob Kneen explained, "The best thing
about math is that
I
don't have to worry about
predicate nomnatives." His statement summed it
up for many students.
