Little
Giants
Freshman sports provided young
athletes with the chance to get used to the
transition from middle school to high school
sports. Participation in sports like fresh–
men football, basketball, and wrestling was
a time for students to figure out where they
belonged in the athletic program.Getting to
know the coaches, other players, expecta–
tions, and traditions of these sports allowed
students to determine whether they wanted
to invest the time, effort, and hard work
into th comming years. But these youth
were not players to be o erlooked; their
mall stature was no hindtrance to their
performance. They were making footprint
of their own, earning the title, Little Giants.
