Always a strong contender for the ity

onference Wrestling title, Washington again

dispLayed a strong team. Although the grap–

plers were somewhat hindered by the loss of

several key men because of injuries or other

circumstances, they performed consistentLy

throughout the season. The wrestling team

suffered two close defeats by the mere total

of three points while they managed to win

seven matches by a remarkabLe average of

seventeen points. Rounding out the season,

the wrestlers placed fourth in the ity Meet

and qualified four men in the regionals.

Outstanding contributions were heavy–

weight Toby Ackerman's string of twenty–

seven consecutive victories, titles won by Kevin

Braden and Ackerman, seconds by Terry Gra–

ham and Dave Wong, third by Larry chwister,

and fourth by Ed Chow - all in the State

Regionals.
