Celebrating his 1Oth

ann1versary of first division

ratings in marching festival ,

Mr. Mike Spears has been

pleased with students

part1c.ipating in band this year.

" These students are very

talented and have met my

A Band consisted of 80

students who tried out earlier

stresses

in the year and met certain

requirements for playing.

Music camp at NLU was

one of the activities for band

members, and though Mr.

Spears did not require that a

student go, he had 20 to

attend and earn advanced

awards. Peggy Haley, head

drum major, was elected as

advanced drum major in a

class of approximately 20

was a motto Mr. Spears tried

to implant in each student's

mind, and to achieve this

perfection in the half-time

shows and staged concerts,

he conducted many practices

Concession stands, candy

sales, and benefit concerts

were among the

band to pay for travel and

new equipment.

Helping with the concession

stands during the football

games were the Band

Boosters, parents of band

students.

Rebel Band had 58

members in all-district band

competition and sent 10 to

all-state competition.
