Mississippi bowl game

Rebels lose to

of Little Dixie

champs

Conference

It was a playoff game in a

way as West Monroe traveled

to Mississippi for post-season

competition. After not making

the Louisiana playoffs, the

Rebels were invited to

Vicksburg to play in the Red

Carpet Bowl. In the game

West Monroe faced 11-0,

Little Dixie Conference

Champs, Warren Central.

Warren Central scored

touchdowns in the first and

second quarters to take a

12-0 lead at the half. The

Rebel defense rose to the

occasion in the third, stopping

the Vikings three times.

In the fourth , Carl Blue,

Warren Central's 2, 145 yard

rusher, broke loose for TO

runs of 14 and 65 yards.

Added to that was one more

touchdown.

For West Monroe. David

Outley received offensive Player

of the Game honors for his

97-yard performance against a

tough Viking defense.
