made two touchdowns himself

on runs of 11 and 76 yards.

Ouachita received a Rebel punt

at their own 38 and drove to

the West Monroe 9 before

running out of downs.

West Monroe went to

Carroll thinking it could lose

and still go to the playoffs,

and that' s just what happened

as the Bulldogs put together a

running game that they had

been searching for an season.

The defense held Carroll to 12

points, but mistakes kept the

Rebel offense from rolling on

that given Friday night.

After discovering that

Bastrop must be defeated by

14 or more points, the Rebs

set out to do just that. A

Ram field goal in the early

going kept West Monroe from

winning by 14 as the Rebels

scored 20 points on a muddy,

sloppy field.

At the end of the season

the Louisiana Sports Writers

Association chose the District

3-AAAA team. West Monroe

had eight players placed on

the team , including the

Outstanding Offensive and

Defensive Players.

On offensive the Rebs had

tackle Alan Shields, placekicker

Charles Headrick, and

outstanding offensive player,

tailback David Outley chosen.

The Rebs placed five on the

defensive side including tackle

Max Bacon , Noseguard Mark

Lenard, safety Kyle Albritton,

and outstanding defensive

Sanders.
