ACTING ADD CT
Sometimes the daily spotlight is just not
enough; Thespians and Forensics provided stu–
dents with an opportunity to utilize their acting
talent outside of theatre class. These dedicated
actors and actresses gave their time and effort to
memorizing, practicing, and perfecting scenes
to take to competition and conferences. They
allowed their words, actions, and personalities
to be transformed into the characters they strived
to portray. Thespian members devoted their
after-school hours to school productions and
competition pieces for the annual State Thes–
pian Conference in Memphis. Forensics partici–
pants also spent time after class learning mono–
logues and scenes in different categories to take
to competitions. These various competitions
were held in cities including Gatlinburg and
Clarksville. Thespian and Forensic members
were living proof that once a taste of the stage is
had, one cannot resist the urge to return under
the lights again and again.
