And the Cro-w-d Goes Wild
From the painted chests to the slogan-filled
signs, spirit was evident everywhere at Franklin.
"Every sporting event I have ever attended at FHS
has always been filled to the brimwith FHS cheer,"
exclaimed Eric Ernst. Each year, Rebel fans tried
to out do their rivals, the Centennial Cougars, with
the rowdiest, most colorful, and spirited fans.
"Every sport had their own unique way of showing
pride. Basketball had the spirit signs, football had
1 the painted chests, and soccer had the cheering
crowds," explains Renecia Daughrity, a varsity
basketball cheerleader.
Friday nights in the fall were spent in the
stadiumbleacherswatching the football teamwhile
colder winter nights were spent on the
gym
side–
lines cheering on the basketball teams. Students
did not just attend sporting events for the final
score, but to cheer on the Rebels. Students were
always inspired into a round of applause when it
came to school spirit.
