What exactly is cross coun–
try? This question echoed in the
minds of many students. This
sport was often confused with
track, but the two actually had
very few similarities. Cross Coun–
try was run on varying courses;
uphill and downhill as well as flat
land. Members of the cross coun–
try teammet everyday after school
and ran roughly three miles dur–
ing each practice to prepare for
meets. Joining the cross country
team was a major commitment,
but the teammates agreed that the
results were well worth it. The
sport not only conditioned the ath–
letes, but it provided for a fun and
successful season.
