At the playoffs in Denham

Springs, the Lady Rebels scored

three runs in the second inning

with Rhonda Evans knocking in

two with a double, and Sharon

Walters knocking one in with a

sacrifice fly. In all, the Lady

Rebels scored five more runs to

defeat Lake Charles 8-2.

The second state play-off

game saw the Lady Rebels lose

for the first time of the season.

The game was close until one of

Carenco's players hit her second

grand slam of the tournament to

give the Lafayette team a 7-3

win. kay Osborn led the Lady

Rebs against Carenco by driving

in all three runs.

Rhonda

Evans,

Sharon

Walters, and Kay Osborn were

not the only players who helped

the Lady Rebels to the state

playoffs. Other leading players

included Cathy Naron, Denise

Rutledge, Terri Pippens, Susie

Burton, and Sharlis Calhoun.
