Rookie head coach John
Causey
took
a group of
mostly rookie football players
and made something of it in
'79. Along with coaches
Jimmy Aulds, Roy Peters,
Elvin Spears, Andy Long, and
Buddy Reed, Coach Causey
developed a defense that
allowed only 83 points in
regular season and an offense
that produced a 1,000-yard
rusher.
The defense didn't have any
one outstanding player as all
were outstanding. The unit
consisted of linemen Randy
Frost, Jeff Bonds, Mark
Lenard, Max Bacon, Scott
Leehy; line-backers Casey
Sanders and Buddy Aulds;
backs Michael Jacobs, David
Outley, Jeff Worley, and Kyle
Albritton.
These 11 people held two
teams to no points, including
top ranked AAA Wossman.
Haughton was held to 7,
Bastrop to 9, Huntington to
3, and Neville was held
