Beauty Shines
Through the
Rain at the
Carousel Parade
On a rainy Thanksgiving day. many
students from South participated in the
annual Carousel parade. The Marching
Sabres, having recetved first place in the
band competitiOn last year. were the honor
band for the festivities. Although their
music was triumphant. the members of the
band and the South Lettergirls ended the
parade totally soaked from the rain.
South Mecklenburg was also honored in a
very special way. Catherine Williams, the
reigning "Miss South," represented the
school with her abundance of beauty .
talent. and personality. After interviews
and competitions. Catherine was crowned
the "Carousel Oueen" of the entire parade.
