And Boys ' State, And CYC

Outstanding students at South participat –
ed in summer honor programs including the
Civitan Youth Conference, Governor's
School. and Girls' and Boys' State.
Governor 's School candidates spent six
weeks in the summer at Winston-Salem.
The program was designed to help prepare
students for creative leadership. Honored
representatives showing talent in such
areas as Art. Drama. Dance. Instrumental
and Choral Music were chosen.
Representatives showing qualities in
leadership. who were nominated by their
teachers, attended Girls' and Boys' state
for a week of leadership training.
The Civitan Youth Conference, held for
one week during the summer at Cleveland.
S.C., put leadership emphasis on the study
of human relations.
