J . V. BASEBALL-'66
The J. V. '66 baseball team came up with a 6-6
record. The boys were proud of JohnWorthing's score
of three wins and one loss and'of Steve McGavin's good
showing against Ithaca. Even though the team will be
losing Coach Funiciello, the line-up looks· good for a
fine 1967 season.
CROSS COUNTRY
The 1966 Cross Country
team continued to improve, as
it has for each of the last four
years, and established itself as
one of the best second level
teams in the section.
Its record in dual meet
competition was 5-3, with vic–
tories over Ithaca, Johnson City,
Susquehanna Valley, and Seton
(Twice), and losses to Maine–
Endwell, Chenango Valley, and
Catholic Central. Its invita–
tionals were the Ted Conwicke
Meet, in which the hurriers
placed third of fourteen in Sec–
tional IV schools, and the Whit–
ney Point Invitational, in which
the team placed third of eleven.
At the Class
A
Sectional race,
the team was sixth of thirteen.
Curt Schweizer turned in
a fine individual performance
by placing second in the league
and third in the section. Jess
Hunt, another trophy winner,
was consistantly in the top one–
fifth.
The team was plagued this
year by lack of depth and may
have the same problem in 1967
unless more people participate.
J u n i o r Mike Watkins and a
strong freshman team will pro–
vide a good nucleus for next
year, but they will need more
help · if the team continues to
improve.
