Lbilities In All Areas Make Well-Rounded Tearn
After a slow start in four non-conference
games, South dominated conference play
by winning the next seven out of nine
conference games. South's best games
were a six to zero victory over Harding, a
six to one defeat of North Mecklenburg,
and four to zero defeats of Garinger and
West Charlotte. The only defeat for South
was a close two to one loss to county
champions East Mecklenburg. South could
not have put this outstanding record
together without the help of substitutes
Doug Hudson, Tom Brangle, Andy Flint, and
Dean Stockton, who backed up the starting
line-up all season. At the end of the season
Bob Mitcheltree and Mike Samann were
selected to the All-Conference team.
ABOVE, Sean Crowley strives to give team edge for

for control of ball. BELOW, Roger Burgess shuts out
ball to protect goal.
