Tearn Draws On
Diverse Talent
To End
Winning Season
This year's varsity football team was one of
the most hoped for new experiences at
South. The newly re-organized team did
not let their patrons down as they turned
in an excellent season of seven wins, three
losses, and no ties. The season was
highlighted by a twenty-eight to six
Homecoming victory over West Mecklen–
burg and a thirty-three to seven rout of
Harding. A seven to six loss to Division
Champs, West Charlotte, evolved after
two good field goal attempts were called
back, and the third try was missed, giving
the win to West Charlotte. The team's
offense was led by junior quarterback,
Tuggy Lambros, and the superb running
game of All-County back, Dexter Maxwell.
The tenacious defensive line was anchored
by the talents of two All-County players,
nose-guard Addison Kendrick and lin–
ebacker Alvarez Abernathy.
