The NJROTC
Maintains Its
Past Success
The NJROTC program at South was
established to try and instill a sense of
pride and respect in oneself, in one's fellow
classmates, and in one's uniform. Field trips
were made to provide students with an
ample opportunity to gain knowledge and
understanding of military life.
The Drill Tearn. headed by male com–
manders. Richard Jones and Raymond
Glenn, and female commanders Melissa
McGalliard and Robin McKnight. strove to
maintain the high standards set in previous
years. The team attended several
competitions ranging from Washington,
D.C. to Florida. The Colorguard displayed
pride and patriotism while performing at
various functions.
The NJROTC highlighted the 1978-79
school year with the Duke Drill Meet and
the Military Ball.
